About me
It has always been a dream of mine to get up in the morning and look forward to going to work. This is why I find being a costume designer and maker so fulfilling. It combines my love of using practical skills, the joy I find in interacting with people every day (I am a very sociable person), and my huge interest in film, television and theatre. I currently finished my third year studying costume design and making at Nottingham Trent University, and during my studies I have developed a strong interest in makeup and prosthetics. I plan to use my experience in this area, along with the wealth of knowledge and skills which I have gained from the course, to help me pursue my dream of designing and making costumes for the film, television and theatre industries.
Work Experience
Costume Maker - Angels the Costumiers London
January 2017- Present
I assistant the cutters as a machinist in the making of costumes for film, television and theatre on tight time scales, usually working on a variety of projects at any one time. I have the responsibility of making costumes on my own from start to finish but also as part of a production line process. On smaller projects I am required to do basic pattern cutting. I also assist on fittings which calls for a strong attention to detail and good level of professionalism given that we work with high profile clients. I also liaise with designers and pass on communications from them onto the room management.
